KSAT - Event Loading Issues (US Only)
Incident Report for KnowBe4
Postmortem

On Monday, November 4, 2024, from approximately 11:00 p.m. to Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 3:13 a.m. (UTC), some customers experienced delays with loading audit log events in US instances of the KSAT console.

This issue was caused by a bug that occurred during a system upgrade. This bug caused the deletion of an event subscription, disrupting the KSAT console’s connection to audit log event data. To resolve this issue, we improved our code to address the bug and restore the subscription, and the KSAT console returned to normal performance by November 6, 2024, at 3:13 a.m. (UTC).

To prevent this type of issue in the future, we’ve improved our code to ensure this bug no longer occurs during update deployments. We’ve also added additional checks when adjusting that connection, and we’ll be implementing additional boundaries between event subscriptions and the KSAT console.

No data loss occurred as a result of this issue.
